Important Information Regarding Tests at Your Institution

Mail-in tests are available to schools located away from any of the testing sites (BYU-Provo, BYU-Idaho, and Dixie College). Students who live in Utah, Southern Idaho, or Northern Nevada must take a FLATS test at one of the testing sites and will not be allowed to register for a mail-in test. Students are responsible to make sure that their institution will allow them to purchase that institution's credit from the results of a language exam from another school. BYU does not grant credit to non-BYU students. Students are also responsible for finding a proctor to administer the test. To register for a test by correspondence, follow the links on this website. It is also possible to request registration for more than one test. The fee is $50.00 per test. Please note: if you take the FLATS test as a non-BYU student and later become a BYU student the pass/fail credit on this exam cannot be converted to graded credit at a later date.
